Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 5005
Printing to PDF-Converter should use .pdf
Last modified: 2003-03-11 17:56:35 UTC
Somewhat related to 3015. In my opinion *of course* the PDF-converter should use the filename, not the title. Otherwise it overwrites previously created files without asking (Is this another bug?). So far to 3015. Here, because the title of all our docs is "Faculty for Computer Science and IT" blablabla, I have to 'Print to File'. Then, the "wrong" (default) directory comes up and the wrong 'File type' comes up (Postscript; which defies the concept of PDF Converter). Here I have to click 'PDF' as 'File type'. Still not enough of trouble, because the PDF-file will be created without extension. That is, you have to enter '.pdf' manually in order to make it appear in the list of files in Acrobat Reader. (Try it yourself if you don't get the point.) Okay, here's the expected behaviour: 'File'->'Print...'->'PDF Converter'->'Print to file' should open the last directory (remember the last directory!) and offer 'PDF' as 'File type'. Finally, the extension '.pdf' should be added automatically to the 'File name' entered by the user (if the user doesn't give any other).
