If text in the attached Word document is copied to the clipboard, then pasted
into OOo Writer, the font becomes Tahoma instead of Times New Roman, and all
text after the first line is aligned to the left instead of to the right.

This is only a problem when copying from the clipboard. When opening the file in
Writer, it is imported correctly.

On 3.1, the alignment is ok after paste. However, the font is still changed.
