Description Unknown 2002-05-13 04:02:56 UTC
Enter Chinese(TW) characters via MS new JY input 98a. Able to show the
characters in the upper section but failed to show in the column. Only replaced
by squares.
The problem seems can be solved by editing the column format - font type.
Change both Chinese and English defaut font to MS standard chinese font type.

However, when saved as excel format and open with MS excel 2000, the charact
can not display properly. After tried editing the font format, still failed to
display correctly. Please fix otherwise can not share file with colleagues.

Using MS98se Chinese version. And IBM 600E with Pentium II notebook.

Hi Brian,
first of all you need a native chinese Win98SE version. Than you
have to enable CJK features in OOo (Tools-Options-Language Settings-
Languages-Enable Asian Language Support). If that doesn't fix your
problem, enable the font replacement (Tools-Options-OpenOffice.org-
Fonts) and replace Andale Sans UI with an on your system existing
CJK-font (OO.o is not delivered with a complete CJK fontset, so you
have to take one of the systemfonts or download one)

Bye, Oliver
