Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 46804
unable to open new text file after moving standard template
Last modified: 2014-03-03 14:09:37 UTC
Hello, I created a template and then moved it to a folder where other people can access it, too, in order to make it the default template for what we write at our company (ie, it has logos, special borders etc). Somehow I defined this as the standard template before I moved it, BUT after a restart of OOo I am unable to open a new text file because OOo just doesn't find the template despite it being in the search path (Extras->Options->General->Paths->Templates). It would be an improvement if OOo could instead open a text file with a sort of "built-in" template, or even better, ask the user which templates in the search path she wants, and whether to set the selected template as the new standard template.
defect -> enhancement reassign
BTW, this is a framework issue.

I am having a problem related to this report. Windows 7 (64bit) Open office 4.01 writer doesn't use the path set in the paths setting for templates. Even when I place my templates in the template folder, as defined by open office, it doesn't see them.
