I'm running Xinerama on 2 1024x768 displays.  Gimp reports my DPI as something
around 83.   All OO dialogs are far too big.  The Open dialog takes nearly a
entire 17" monitor.  Paragraph properties is 1 1/2 displays wide.  Buttons are
just far too big.  All other apps have no problems.

FYI, upgraded to XFree 4.2 (RH 7.3) and this is no longer a problem.

Very strange. But as you say this phenomenon can not be reproduced
with XFree86 4.2.0, I guess it was an XServer problem.

Setting this to 'works for me'. Anybody who disagree?

Rather than "works for me" it should be "double" to issue 2249. 
The effect is the same: XFree>=4.1.99 got fixes for Xinearama.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
