Description Unknown 2002-05-07 10:30:31 UTC
How do I lookup which version of OOo am I running? In Microsoft Office one
could simply go to Help, About for this information, but OOo's seem to be
hidden somewhere else. Can this information be added to the Help, About screen
in OOo as well?

(This is in the wrong forum, too, I suppose. Was not sure where to add it.)

The OpenOffice.org version number is available in 2 obvious places:
1. The title bar "OpenOffice.org 1.0"
2. The Help|About box, with the OpenOffice.org 1.0 graphic
(the about box may not have been available in beta versions)

When we release 1.1, that number will be indicated in similar
places. If you're looking for a Serial Number, there isn't any:
this is Open Source!

I can't imagine what else you're expecting.

Hi,
thanks for handling the bug. May be I can help here.
Assume we make a bug fix version 1.0.1!
There is a hidden version info in the about box.
Press CTRL+S+D+T et viola...
We should have the micro number somewhere obvious.
Comment 3 stx123 2002-05-07 18:40:02 UTC
reassigning to default owner of component

ST,

Hmmm ... that's a fun trick! However, shouldn't the credits marquee
be available by a button, rather than having to know ^S^D^t? We do
want the users to see our names, hey?

Sorry, folks. Looks like I caused some confusion here. Let me explain
in more detail...

I want to make sure that I have the latest version of OOo. People
keep talking about bugs that got fixed in version 641C, for instance,
but I'm not sure if I got that version, because I am still
experiencing the bugs that were supposedly fixed. I've downloaded OOo
on 02/05/2002, and sure, it's called 1.0. But can the "developer
version number" (for lack of a better description) eg. 641C, be
looked up somewhere in the program?

And how can I get the latest version? Is there patches available, or
should I redownload the whole setup prog?

TM->FT: Please have a look at this enhancement. Thanks !

Hi,
we have several issues named here.

Josh, could you file a separate issue for your "credits" suggestion?

Chris, I'm not sure, whether you really would like to exchange an
stable OOo 1.0.x against the most recent developer version :-)
Developers versions will have their number (642, 642C, ...) in the
title bar (and other places) and we will provide a mean to
distinguish 1.0 micro releases (1.0.1, 1.0.x).

Peter, I would like to use the mechanism provided in
util\unotools\inc\unotools\bootstrap.hxx,v 1.7
util\unotools\source\config\bootstrap.cxx,v 1.13
framework\sfx2\source\dialog\about.cxx,v 1.12
for having the string "OpenOffice.org 1.0 (1.0.1)" in the about box.
Could you clarify with Ingo, what additional changes are needed?
Comment 8 pb 2002-06-19 13:28:06 UTC
PB -> IS: please use our new bootstrap.ini key "ProductPatch" for the
OOo version (1.0.1).
Comment 9 ingo.schmidt-rosbiegal 2002-06-20 11:46:02 UTC
IS: Okay, I added the ProductPatch key with the following files:

profile.scp , rev. 1.129.2.4
gid.inc , rev. 1.281
Comment 10 ingo.schmidt-rosbiegal 2002-07-23 10:44:28 UTC
IS: The installations look good. Therefore I will close this bug.
Comment 11 ingo.schmidt-rosbiegal 2002-07-23 10:45:36 UTC
Nonsen, wrong bug.
Comment 12 ingo.schmidt-rosbiegal 2002-07-23 10:50:52 UTC
IS -> OF: Nonsens again, of course the correct bug for closing. But
of course it is better, if you close this bug because you checked
that everything works fine.
Comment 13 Olaf Felka 2002-07-23 11:57:05 UTC
Is ok in OOo 1.0.1
