OpenOffice Base is not finding the JRE on my system; however, I *do* have 
Sun's JRE 1.4.1 installed. I get an error saying there is no JRE, which cycles 
in an endless loop. To stop it, I have to cancel the task.

Also, the Quickstart Icon in my taskbar is com-pletely unpopulated. I am 
assuming this is because Base isn't working.

No, this is completely unrelated. The quickstarter castration is a separate
thing, there have been long discussions about this in users or dev @
openoffice.org, IIRC ...

Yes, this problem has to do with a bug we had in our jdbc driver but it is fixed
already. :-)
