Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 4442
ult1mo foundry fonts do not display
Last modified: 2003-03-11 18:14:03 UTC
RedHat Linux 7.2, XFree-4.1.0-15. If /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/latin2/Type1 is in my font path, any font included there that is a "duplicate" named font (of another foundry) does not display (comes out blank) in openoffice 1.0. For example, I have the microsoft truetype fonts installed. In the latin2/Type1 folder are fonts of the names: -ulT1mo-Arial-medium, -ulT1mo-Times New Roman-medium, -ulT1mo-Verdana-medium-i-normal. When this is in my fontpath, none of Arial, Times New Roman, or Verdana display at all in openoffice. A fix I found was to remove this directory from my fontpath, and then openoffice could correctly display these fonts. More good news is that apparently XFree86-4.2.0 no longer includes these fonts. I'm not sure if this is really an openoffice or XFree86-4.1.0 bug, but I thought I would at least report it.
Reassigned to Ulf.
This is in fact double to issue 4718. And has been corrected by RH(8.0). As you already found out, it is a bug of the mentioned distribution, not an OOo issue. As by issue 4718 we also changed the list of fonts for displaying the Help, so that it is also displayed correct on a RH7.2. Thus I tend to close this one. Thanks for reporting anyway.
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
