Description drichard 2005-03-04 15:48:14 UTC
The "Activation Order" button is used to resequence the order of the fields in
an entry form. In 1.1 the button would be disabled until you placed at least
one widget on the screen and then would always be active. It's a form level
control and this is correct.

In the 2.0 beta, it only activates when you click focus into one of the entry
widgets.

Context needs to be moved from field/widget level to form level and it should
always be active once one widget has been placed on the screen.

Hi drichard,

for me the current behaviour make more sense.
If you have more then 1 formular in you document which form should the
Activation Order Dialog (AD) display. In the OOo 1.1.x version the AD display
the form which was last focused. This is some kind of magic, isn't it? Now you
can only use the AD if a form is selected. So no magic anymore.

For me this is the better solution, what do you think?

Bye Marc

I understand what you are saying, and while it is obviously related to the
widgets, to me it's a form level function and worked better in 1.1

Working the old way eliminated one mouse keystroke. If you have design mode off
and were testing the tab order on a form and found a problem you could turn
design mode on and then click into the Activation order button immediately to
correct it.

In 2.0, you have to turn design mode on, then click into a widget, then click
the activation order button. To me, I don't see any workflow reason for it to
work the new way.
