(OOo 1.9_m77, SuSE 9.2) 
this behaviour is also confirmed on 1.9_m79 
 
1. File - New - Presentation (should run Autopilot) 
2. select Empty presentation. Next. 
3. select Dark blue with orange. Next. 
4. select Slide transition effect Box Out or Box In. 
5. OOo will crash every time.
