Description Unknown 2002-04-24 18:40:24 UTC
Downloaded the dictionary modules (only the 638 versions seemed to be available
at the time) and followed the directions for installing them all the way
through, then tried to spell check a document in the spanish language. The
program fails to identify misspelled words or even nonsence words. I do not
know whether this is a failure in the code or in my configuration, but spanish
spell checking (and thesaurus when available) is important for this bilingual
organisation.

DL->SBA: Could you please check this?

Assigning this to myself since this is a lingucomponent issue.

Hi,

I went to
http://whiteboard.openoffice.org/lingucomponent/download_dictionary.ht
ml

and followed the instructions for installing and using the Spanish
dictionary and was able to spellcheck in Spanish with no problems.

Could you try doownloading from that location (the official
repository) and using the latest version (but DO *NOT* install any
extra .dlls - they were for older versions of OOo).

That dll will cause issues for newer versions of OOo (such as 1.0.0)
which has already fixed those issues.

Please give it a try and let me know what you find.

Kevin
