Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 41070
No path for dragged in gallery object
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:31:27 UTC
The difference between the older (1.1.4) and the current version is: at the moment OOo does not show a path for an inserted ( drag and drop) picture in a gallery theme. A path is shown if the picture is added to the theme using right click/properties/files/find files/add. This differentiation makes no sense in my opinion.
Because of limited resources we have to re-target this task to the next release. => set to OOo 2.0.1.
The path is not shown in this case, because it is an internal drawing object, stored after D&D in a Gallery internal storage. The path to this internal object is not accessible from the outside, so the 'path' is not displayed since it has no meaning for the customer. Naming would be something like dd12345, which may be confusing for the customer. So, it is omitted in this case. => UX/Christian: please clarify if this is the correct behaviour or if the internal name should be displayed.
CJ: I'm not sure how important the path information at all is. From my point of view it would be much better to display in both cases a no path. I suggest that we introduce for pictures or graphics a properties dialog. For the "internal" graphic objects added by drag and drop I would like to the possibility to export the graphics, fro within the Gallery, into the standard OO.o Draw format. However, in both cases these are new features and this should be handled by writing a new task.
setting this task to Office Later, new feature task has to be generated instead.
