Description Unknown 2002-04-03 17:33:55 UTC
When moving the mouse over some menu items (file, Edit, window, help, etc.) the
menu list which is supposed to pop up directly below the selected item on the
menu bar, will instead pop up centered in the screen, which is extremely
difficult to navigate.

About half of the other menu items function correctly, and the menus do appear
in the correct location, which lead me to believe this is not just a driver
issue. This happens in each of the sub programs.

The cause is related to software on this computer which has multiple monitors,
and driver software (matrox quickdesk) which causes popup dialogs to appear
centered on the active monitor. Turning off the 'center popups' option will
make the problem go away. However, since about half of the menus in
Openoffice function correctly (tools menu for example) while the others do not,
perhaps it would be possible to check for inconsistancies in the coding method
between the menus, and adjust the incorrectly functioning menus to work like
the others.

I have never observed this problem with any applications other than
OpenOffice.org.

thanks, keep up the great work.

Seems to me that this correspond (duplicate) to issue #4360 that is
fixed into inhouse build 7985 and implemented in a next OO-
version.

Fixed, therefore closed.
