Artistic text (freely edited text with fill and OUTLINE, like Corel Draw) 
WITHOUT text frame is IMHO very, very, very.. :-) basic important funkcion to 
drawing (and wordprocesor too).

Did you had a look at the new fontwork gallery and all of its new features?

Yes, I know Fontwork, (I have version 1.9.62), but it is like WordArt in Word 
(not for precise graphics). 
Artistic text is another tool, text with text atributes (font, style, size, 
range kerning, without decoration) edited like object (size, fill, outline, 
wrap paragraph text).

latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been addressed.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
