Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 33850
Toolbar customisation more difficult than in 1.1.x!
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:33:27 UTC
In the latest developer builds, to add toolbar button using the customisation window, you have to bring up a window with the list of available buttons, which you have to exit and start again for every command you want to add! In previous versions (1.1.x), the list of buttons was integrated into the customisation window. Surely it would make newer versions of OOo much easier to use if the command list was reintegrated into the toolbar customisation window, in a similar way to previous OOo versions.
SBA: Component changed to framework. Reassigned to TM.
TM->BH: Not a bug, but might be a wish for an enhancement in our new "customize toolbars" implementation. Please have a look.
You should not need to exit the Add Commands dialog each time you add a new command to a toolbar. If that is happening then it is a bug. The workflow should be as follows: - Open the Customize Toolbar tabpage - Click the Add... button to open the Add Commands dialog - Navigate to a command, then click the Add button or drag the command to the toolbar. Note the change is also instantly applied to the toolbar in the document window. - You can then select another command and add it, you don't need to exit the dialog. Let me know if this not working for you
I can only confirm "toconnor" in that it is NOT necessary to close the "add commands dialog" for every sinle command (checked on OOo 1.9.65, Win XP). However, in general, I agree with "ed2" that the change from OOO1.1.x to 1.9.x to add an extra window is unnecessary. Working with two overlapping windows is more complicated than the "all-in-one-window" solution of OOo1.1. Status "new", since the issue is correctly marked as "enhancement".
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
