Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 33754
page number of a chapter/section
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:34:05 UTC
Hi, As I often use OOo to write technical reports with many appendix, I'd really like to be able to have a proper page numbering, e.g. to use something like "number of page in the chapter" or "number of page in the section" instead of "number of page in the whole document" Thanks again for this wonderfull software
reassigned to BH.
I think this also would be usefull when a document contains cover and index of contents and the page number one is the next one, manual page break + start conunting as 1. This way you could show at the botton of the pages "Page n of m" and the at the last page n and m would mach. What happens now: (1) Header:(none) TITLE Manual break (2) Header:(none) INDEX Manual break, changing page number (3) Header:Page 1 of 4 (instead of 2) First page Manual break (4) Header:Page 2 of 4 (instead of 2) Last page Manual break
This would be a most useful feature. I would like section page number as well. There are times when both page number and section page numbers would be handy. There need to be a working offset option page count and/or a flag for pages to make the not counted. Personally I would like rename current page count system to document page count and make normal page count flexible like page numbers. There has to be a document page number hiding back there as well. Give them all to user and let user use what ever one suits there needs.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
