This problem is specific to large Solaris network environments.
From the menu bar select file - open.
In the file-open dialog select the top most level network'd directory e.g. /net
OpenOffice appears to hang, sometimes it does return after several minutes
(15-20).
There is an in house bug for this issue (97133)

I think we can live with this task in the OO642B build ?
Hennes told that this fix will take a while.
