Description Unknown 2002-01-09 12:43:08 UTC
After downloading the 641 build I noticed that I'm no longer able to
use the menu bar. After clicking a menu bar item the menu pops up but
it disappears as soon I move the mouse down to click an item. All of
OpenOffice components display this behaviour, and all other GUI enabled
programs that I run do not.
I'm running Debian/GNU Linux Sid (unstable), along with XFree86 4.1.0, GTK 1.2
and Ximian Gnome 1.4.

Hi,

I think this is a Sawfish setting issue. This issues was
supposed to be fixed in the very latest respin build OOo
(OO641C).

So please make sure you are using the latest version of OOo
(641C) and if so, search the Issuezilla database and you will find
a workaround for changing the settings of Sawfish focus.

Hope this helps,

Kevin

Yes I am running Sawfish, and yes I am running OOo build 641C.

Changing focus policy from 'enter-exit' to 'enter-only' fixed the
menu behaviour. Still I believe that there is something to be done
in OOo, because no other application I run had this problem ever.

Thanks and good luck in hunting the bug down ;-)

Hi,

A fix for this in vcl has already been included in the
PPC Linux OO641C build and was tested by some Sawfish users and it
seemed to do the trick. So perhaps this fix did not get tagged in
time for the x86 Linux build?

Either way, a fix does exist already and it should make it into the
next release for all UNIX platforms.

Thanks,

Kevin

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
