Description norbert2 2004-03-19 07:16:50 UTC
When placing the cursor in the edit-field at the top, the active cell has no
borders. So its hard to find out in which cell you can now enter content.

Excel keeps (a thinner) version of the border around the active cell, when
entering via the edit-field.
Please do this also in Calc!

There is a border in 1.1.3. Atleast for Win XP.

Still an issue in 1.9.74.

Is this something that is going to be fixed, or should it be marked as wontfix?

I don't care either way, just curious.

Are you sure that there IS a border in 1.1.3??? I have not installed 1.1.3
anymore. But I don't believe this.

In fact neither 1.1.4 nor 1.9.77 show a border. Why wontfix? I still think this
should be fixed!

No, I am not sure, I posted that back in November, and I think I was probably
wrong. :(

Either way there is no border where you request in the new builds. I think it is
left off, because when you are editing a long string in the function bar, the
border could possible get in the way.

I don't really know why else. I have never thought about it.

In 1.1.4 whether you are editing in the function bar or in the sheet proper, the
border goes away.

Same in 1.9.78. So it doesn't just disappear when you edit in the function bar.

"whether you are editing in the function bar or in the sheet proper, the
border goes away"

you are right

the summary should be changed therefore

I am not advocating this change per se, just changing the summary to make it
more correct.

Would seem like a fairly easy fix though.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
