Description mterk 2004-03-07 18:53:46 UTC
Request option to import/export settings (the contents of the Tools->Options and
Tools->Configure dialogs) to a single file for importing into another installation.
Would like to configure OOo and export settings across platforms (i.e. Windows
to Linux, etc) or to different machines.
Thanks

this feature should be forwards & backwards compatible - if target installation
of oo.org doesn't support some of options/features (or they are obsolete) it
should succesfully import others and warn user that some of the settings were
not set (with an ability to view a list of options that were not applied).

when exporting and importing there should be checkboxes for custom dictionaries
and other things that might increase target file;

there should be a way to import settings silently (probably some commandline
switch);

resulting file should be human readable and support comments (probably archived
- similar to oo.org file formats), so that some settings can be removed or
commented out - this way only those options specified in that file would be set.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
