Description jnoreiko 2004-02-29 14:21:33 UTC
User data is not correctly inserted into the "Insert Envelope" dialog box.

The "sender" field contains only the name I entered on installation and my
country. The data entered in the "User Data" sheet in the "Options" dialog box
is not being used. Changes to my name or country in the "User Data" sheet have
no effect on the content of the "Insert Envelope" field.

(This could be related to, but is different to issue 21084.)

Hi jnoreiko,

thanks for using and supporting openOffice...

I tried this with an OOo1.1.1b and all went fine...
I changed the user data ( name) and inserted a new envelope and the sender
field showed th e new userdata...

Please try our newest version and send a new comment if your problem occurs again...

I have just installed 1.1.2 for windows.
This still does not work correctly: the user data I entered on my initial
installation is being used instead of user data from the Options dialog.

Hi jnoreiko,

thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice...

I did the following on Windows and Solaris:

1. entered some user data (name, street, city,...)
2.     Insert -> Envelope
3. changed the user data ( street, name, zip,...)
4.     clicked "insert"
==> I got the modified user data on my inserted envelope...

I even tried the following:
1. entered some user data (name, street, city,...)
2.     Insert -> Envelope
3.     clicked "insert"
==> I got the user data from Tools->Options on my inserted envelope...

This works here as expected...

Are you using a more recent version than I am?

Perhaps you did not enter user info on installation, and it's therefore using
the Options info as a fallback?

My envelopes always say:

 Me
 United Kingdom

which is what I hastily entered during the installation process, thinking I
could add more detail later.
I have located this data in the file
 (OpenOffice)\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office\Writer.xcu

within:
<node oor:name="Envelope">
 <node oor:name="Inscription">
  <prop oor:name="Sender" oor:type="xs:string">

I have tried changing my user address details in the Options box, but it is
still the same text I get.

Hi jnoreiko,

I'm using OOo1.1.2 on Solaris, Linux and sometimes on Windoze.

I even deinstalled OOo and installed it again (I wasn't sure if I entered my
Userdata at installation or later)...

- I inserted an envelope using the user data I entered at installation ==> ok
- I inserted an envelope and changed some user data while inserting ==> ok
- I changed the user data and inserted an envelope
    => I got an envelope with the new user data ==> ok

This works here as expected...
Comment 9 jnoreiko 2004-09-14 11:33:25 UTC
Perhaps this is left-over from the previous installation I upgraded.

Hi jnoreiko,

sorry for delay...

Please try to remove your directory containg the user data ( or rename it ) and
try this again.

I've renamed the offending file and this now works properly. :)
