The most common object transition I use is plain "Appear".  In order to get to
"appear" I have to select "Other" in the drop-down menu and then choose
"Appear".  This is quite a lot of effort when there are (say) five transitions
per slide and  20 slides in a presentation, especially as there is also the
click on "assign" required.

It would be good if either
(a) "appear" was a favorite
(b) favorites were dynamically generated -- e.g. the most used transitions out
of the past 100 selected
(c) favorites could be manually customised
(d) the whole animation effects dialog were redesigned to without the drop-down
menu.  It would also be nice if there was a way of avoiding having to click on
"assign".

BTW, I would have thought that "appear" a pretty common preference -- it is of
my officemate at least.
