Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 24846
Spreadsheet created with Excel lookup wizard causes error
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:27 UTC
A simple file created with the Excel 2000 lookup wizard gives an error when opened in OO 1.1.0 The formula =INDEX(Data!$A$3:$B$7, MATCH(A3,Data!$A$3:$A$7,), MATCH("Fruit",Data! $A$3:$B$3,)) shows as #NA in OOo although in Excel it works fine. Stuart Aberdein

Hi, this is not a bug from OOo Calc. The match function in Excel as you've used it assumes that the last parameter is a zero. If you erase the last ',' in the match function parameter list Excel will work in the same way as Calc do. So writing the function with the full set of parameters will solve the problem. @Falko as discussed this is an enhancement to check what missing/not set parameters should trigger on import. Frank
