Description Unknown 2001-12-04 15:59:53 UTC
All OpenOffice applications (install, openoffice, printer setup) mess up my display.

By messed up I mean that the screen doesn't redraw right, systems slows almost
completely down.(mouse cursor also) Sometimes it helps to switch to a normal
console and then back to X, other times this completely kills my X session.

I'm using Redhat 7.2, kernel 2.4.9 from Redhat, XFree 4.1.0 using the savage
driver. My videocard is the S3/Savage MX, mobile version. It is connected to a
LCD screen. My laptop is a IBM Thinkpad T22.

All my other X applications run fine (KDE apps, normal X apps, Java apps)

Additional info. I also have similar problems with the StarOffice 6
beta. I downloaded in today from sun.com. Also StarOffice 5.2 has
problems with the display. But in a lesser extend. Installation was
possible but there were a lot problems with the screenredraw.
Staroffice itself will also sometimes slow down, lock the screen, when
opening new windows.
