Description guido.pinkernell 2003-11-08 10:12:33 UTC
The settings for Online Help display need to be extended.

In > Tools > Openoffice.org > General, there´s a small section provided for
Online Help display settings where one can choose between various *.css styles.
Yet, if one doesn´t like the css provided, especially the font, one needs to
edit the default.css.

I would be much better if selected options like font name, font size, font
colour etc can be edited from within a newly created > Tools > Openoffice.org >
Help dialogue.

And/or add a "setting option" dialogue to the Help window itself.

Or at least if it would be possible to create user CSS stylesheet somewhere in
~/.openoffice*/ directory. Or is it possible already? I have never found a way
how to do it. I do not think that user should be forced to mess up
with /usr/lib/openoffice content (using Debian/testing and OOo 2.0).

Thanks

And actually even redefining default.css (copy to
~/.openoffice.org2/help/en/default.css and symlinked it to
/usr/lib/openoffice/help/en/default.css) doesn't make me much good. Even the
attached default.css with body {font-size:9pt;} is still huge (see attached
screenshot).

Those following this issue may be interested in this bug/feature that I just
discovered. The Huge Font bug cropped up over a year ago, but I failed to find the
cause at that time. It just disappeared after a while. It occurred again in 2.0.4
and I now discovered the cause with some help from Oo forum users.

I came across this bug while editing an HTML file. I zoomed in to 200% and
afterward found that the font size in help had increased to 200%

Oo users Foxcole and Acknak helped me find out what was causing the problem.

To set the font size in help to what you want, zoom in while in web view to 120%,
150% or whatever. Zoom to 100% to reset the Help Font Size back to the default.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
