Description tjfs 2001-11-15 13:15:44 UTC
Two issues:

i) Long filenames in Windows still get truncated to 8.3 format when saving

ii) When saving in another format, e.g. Word, the extension is not changed so
if you're not careful you create a file e.g. PALLIA~1.SXW which should be
a .DOC. Given the way Windows infers a file's type by its extension this is
not good.

I changed the component to "framework" because I have strong doubt
that this is "word processor only" problem. Please verify in a newer
build and comment.

Reassigned to Thorsten.

When using a 641, which will be the newest OO-version,...

Issue 1 doesn`t occur and works for me !
Issue 2 doesn`t occur when using our own file-open dialog (extension is changed to the new choosen format) but occurs
when using the windows-system file-open dialog. Here the "old" extension must be deleted, or the dialog changes a *.doc file
into a *.doc.sxw (eg) file (new extension is added to the old one). This is a problem within the Windows dialog (Just check
with another application -> for example Notepad -> it acts the same way) and can`t be fixed !

Fixed (so far as possible), verified and closed !
