Quickstarter option suggestion: Load Quickstarter on login/system start
Last modified: 2014-04-24 10:04:16 UTC
Hi, Currently Quickstarter is either loaded at startup or not loaded at all. I would like to make the suggestion to provide an additional option. "Load Quickstarter on First opening OpenOffice.org". As a computer consultant I have noticed on slower computers the Quickstarter takes considerable time starting in the background when the computer first starts. In one instance the user thought the computer was up and running, went to open their usual applications. No response (due to OpenOffice.org Quickstarter loading in the background) so tried again. The result was conflict which resulted in a non working session and the computer had to be started again. The second reason is I am often called in as computers are taking forever to start. Often these people feel they need a new computer. In most cases removing all the automatic startups of programs fixes the perceived slow speed of the computer. The third reason is there are many times when I start up the computer just to check the Internet and Email. I then don't need to have Quickstarter slowing start up. The current option of having Quickstarter load at startup is fine. I would also like to option of having Quickstarter load when the first OpenOffice.org application is opened. Perhaps others may find this option useful too. Please use this suggestion as you see fit. Thanks Kelvin
TM->BH: Please have a look, thanks !
agree
It would be useful...
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
This will be better than current behaivor, though current behaivor is a common one.. Change the Version to Aoo 3.4.0
Found this issue for the same wish. Suggestion for the UI: [X] Enable systray Quickstarter [X] Load on login/system start
