Description sajer 2003-09-26 13:00:27 UTC
I am trying to place a frame with text on top of an illustration. I do not want
a background colour in this frame, only the text I wrote in it must be visible.

I enter the properties of the frame and select NO FILL from the background tab.
But the background is still there, white and covering to image behind!

I have attached an example.

you have to choose a color and set the transparency to 100%
I filed issue 20209 as a RFE to improve the behaviour.
Worksforme.
Note that transparency is a new feature in OOo 1.1 and that it won't
work with OOo 1.0.3

closing.

It is great that you created a new issue on this, thanks.

BUT how can this end like a WORKSFORME. Its so non-intuitive that is
WORKSONLYFORYOU!

a) NO FILL does fill it with white!
b) If you select the first avaiable colour, BLACK and then 100%
transparent, the text in the frame goes white.

This is just not good enough!
Comment 5 lohmaier 2003-09-26 21:02:41 UTC
because the only choices I have are Invalid, Worksforme, Later,
Remind, Wontfix and Fixed.

Since you can set the background to transparent this works.
Since I agree that this intuitive I filed another issue to improve the
behaviour.

Every task deserves its own issue.

Change the font-color form "automatic" to black and you're done. or
even better: don't use black as color :-)

What do you expect this issue to do? Why shouldn't it be closed?
