No particuliar reason for the change, just not sure if issues should indeed be assigned 
to nick (this is what the issue submission instructions say on the marketing pages), or 
rather just placing him in copy.

Just responding to the robot that's bugging me about accepting an issue that I 
assigned to myself. Done. As mentioned in the original comment above, the design 
was provided for the benefit of a project member who volonteered to work on it. If 
that person wishes to make him or herself known, I'll glady re-assign the issue.

Added louis in copy. Any else missing?

RE: your comment above about placing the logo on a web site: 

Please remember that these are rough drafts, none of them have been 
dimensioned or optimized for specific usage such as web site or print publication. 
They also may have other minor imperfections that I would only remove once some 
decision is made by somebody to release a particular version.

richard, these are all interesting but can i suggest you stay away from the land of 
logo? how about two banners with this more or less agreed upon logo:

btw, the banners look really good! I'm viewing them on my mac and they are very 
clean, very nicely balanced.

I certainly hope they look good, but mind they are not polished for release. 
There are rough edges to be removed before publication.

I certainly like the more "compact" versions of the "built with" 
logo. That is, with the "built with" above and to the right of the 
logo, rather than in line with and to the left. 
 
I also suspect that when putting text under the main logo, it should 
be justified...this creates a much better "feel" when boxing the 
logo on a page or as a label/banner.

Where else would you want to go?

Inspired by Richards works so far, may I suggest another logo/motto  
(see ooo-main-logo-Where-else.png) for consideration.

FWIW, my preferences are:

I've come and looked at this page after reading Louis' post on [Marketing].

I like both of the animations...
...for builtwith_anim_short2.gif IMO it would look better if OpenOffice.org 1.1
faded in too.

My thoughts are always how these things will appear to people who've never heard
of OOo - how about a logo that says "OpenOffice.org 1.1 Documents Preferred",
for inclusion on a web site or "OpenOffice.org 1.1 Have you made the change?"

I'm not sure when I'd use "Built with OpenOffice.org" - only very occasionally I
think, but I've copied the Comminity Distributor Logo - much better than the
other one I've got :)

Should you consider use "current" version, instead of "1.1.1a" or every others.
Use a test version makes it more hard to find, if we assume that a user not used
with IZ try to find such project.

I will also find useful some of folowing texts on buttons, in all languages we
support and they shoud refer to URL where will be automatically served page in
language according accept-language in browser.

We can read OpenOffice.org files

And second, many sites publish files in different formats, like .doc, .pdf and
so with very small icons representing the format, OOo should have also this
small icons too.
