Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 16921
text/cell property dialogue box improvement suggestion
Last modified: 2014-02-19 15:35:07 UTC
on the font tab: -replace the bold/italic attribute field/lists by their corresponding icons/buttons: saves much space -keep the "enter size manually" field but replace the list by a slider with which on can change size immediately. 4 markings for orientation and setting the value directly will be enough (but the current appropriate value is shown in the "manual field" of course): 10,30,50,70 -for font field: see issue 7249 -replace the color menu by the font color icon of the toolbar which pops up a color selection grid. -add icon-buttons for each of the options found on the text-effect tab (the buttons should include an arrow to indicate they are not just a switch) which when clicked on open a seletion filed similar to that of the collor button -increase the visible range of the font selection field -add a field "favorite fonts" -add a field "compare fonts" where on can send fonts and then also render the current selected text or a sample text in the preview box in these fonts additionally for comparison purpose -be consistent over applications (Writer, Calc): offer all properties everywehere, eg. "Blinkend" not just in Writer, but in Calc too. And make their guis equal, eg. for position/orientation
