Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 15264
the opening quotes are on the bottom of the line
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:56:16 UTC
Whenever I try to use "something", OO change them to typographical quotes (it's nice), but the opening " is at the bottom of the line and not on top.
Hi, does this problem still exist in OOo 1.0.3? If it does, please attach the file the reproduces this problem. In which language-version do you use OOo? Rainer
Created attachment 6666 [details] sample of the problem
Hi! > does this problem still exist in OOo 1.0.3? I've downloaded 1.0.3.1 and, yes... it does the same... > If it does, please attach the file the reproduces this problem. Ok. It does behave like this in any new document. I have several pre-made docs and they work correctly > In which language-version do you use OOo? I use the english version of OOo, but a spanish version of Windows XP Thx!
Hi Django, might be that that only is a problem with your settings? Normally I just want to have the opening-'"' at the bottom (here in Germany). If I do not want that, I only have to disable at Tools/Autocorrect/CustomQuotes the controlbox "costom quotes", and the opening-'"' will be at the top of the line. I tested with 1.0.3. german version WIN98SE and 1.1beta2. Is your problem solved with this hint?
The problem is that if I deactivate this, I get the simple " instead of the typo quotes. Yes, they're where they should be, but they're simple " :( I prefer the curved ones...
Hi Fernando, might be good to close this issue and if you are interested, a new one for "I prefer the curved ones..." ;-) should be opened by you? Rainer
Since you can configure the replacements (just klick on the small box showing the quote-symbol) I set this one to worksforme. If the standard replacement isn't used in spain/spanish speaking countries (and is default in spanish-version of OOo as well), then please file a RFE (request for enhancement) against the i18n project.
closing issue.
