Description Unknown 2003-04-27 06:37:22 UTC
RedHat 8.0, OO 1.0.3 (and 1.0.1)
CUPS 1.1.14
HP DeskJet 952C

Anything I print totally freezes the system (hardware reset needed). This
includes printing a test page from spadmin. The only way to recover is to
prevent the CUPS daemon from restarting on reboot, and clear the print queue
manually before restarting the daemon.

Applies to the generic printer definition as well as the ppd from CUPS
(HP-DeskJet_952C-hpijs-cups.ppd).

a) check for an update to 1.0.3.1. There were printing problems in
the 1.0.3 release.

b) If you are using 1.0.3.1 then try looking for cups fixes because I
can print to to cups from a number of systems.
