Description JOHN A MARTIN 2023-09-30 19:06:52 UTC
I am writing an OpenOffice file (.odt) that has grown too large (80 MB). I need to break it into smaller files (<20 MB) that I can work with each and continue to expand each individually if needed. I can create/print small .pdf files but of course I cannot edit those.

Make sure your document is well structured using Tools > Outline Numbering or at least have a dedicated paragraph style for the first level headings.
Then go to File > Send > Create Master Document.
The dialog has a drop-down "Template". There you can determine the criterion which is used to divide your document into parts.

If you need help in using the tool, please ask on mailing list or forum.

This is not a bug report and the feature already exists, thus no enhancement request. Therefore I close this issue.
