Pop-up saying lo-oo-ressources-linguistiques-fr-v5.3.oxt cannot be installed

I had the 4.1.5 version where several dictionaries were OK (French, German and English).

Once, they did not work any more.

I tried to install lo-oo-ressources-linguistiques-fr-v5.3.oxt but it des not work (see screenshot).

I tried to uninstall the 4.1.5 ands reinstall the 4.17 but it was the same.

When I type a texte in French, no word is recognized and are red underlined. When I select the text and say it is German (the same French text), no error are found (whereas words are not German ...).

Thank you for your help.

I tried the manual installation (see screenshot ):

I went into the following directory :

  C:\Program Files\OpenOffice 4\program

I launched the unopkg

  C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice 4\program>unopkg.exe add --shared c:\Users\uti
lisateur\Downloads\lo-oo-ressources-linguistiques-fr-v5.3.oxt

  C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice 4\program>echo %ERRORLEVEL%
  0

  C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice 4\program>

But it did not work aither

I have downloaded the dictionary from https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/french-dictionaries
Then Opend the file with openOffice. It installed the extention without an issue.

Maybe that works for you, too?

You are in wrong place here. This is not a help desk.
French AOO 4.1.7 build has already embed french dictionary.

Please jump on our forum and read tutorials to make a correct installation:

Thank you Peter for your answer. Unfortunately, it did not work. The window started to install the package but remained stuck.

Sorry oooforum, I am maybe in the wrong place. However, it used to work and did not work, even with a complete reinstall. I will go to the forum and see it I can get help there.

Reinstall? Did you reset the profile before?
Comment 6 Jean-François Biragnet 2020-04-16 06:57:58 UTC
Yes, even with a complete reinstall but without resetting the profile (this is what I tried first).

So thank you oooforum, all was very well documented in the forum you told me to go to (see link in your previous comment). I reset the profile, ran CCleaner and the reinstall process did work.

I could install French + German + English dictionaries extensions and they work well know (just as before all things went wrong a way I do not know, but I know how to repair it now :)).

Tip for other people that could be in my case : there were a student version of Autodesk with chormium processes that prevent OpenOffice to install, locking special files. Killing the process trhough the Task manager did not work but quitting the Windows backfound processes that are accessible at the bottom right hand corner released the files and let the OO install finish properly.

As said in my comment #3, this is not the right place to do this.
