Description a.a.morlock 2020-02-21 10:03:39 UTC
Was working on a .docx file and hadn't saved it yet to .odt when I realized the OpenOffice download widget was still on my desktop. Went to eject it, and it said it was still being used, even though Open Office was already installed.

My dumbass forced it to eject without saving my .docx file over to .odt (or saving it at all for that matter), and Open Office crashed

Reopened Open Office to see the document recovery screen where the .docx file is listed as 'not recovered yet'

Clicked on the .docx file and clicked 'start recovery'

Recovery wizard acts as if it's getting ready to recover the document for a moment (showing a progress bar, stating it might take a few minutes, etc.) before crashing the entirety of Open Office.

Tried to install a new Open Office to see if the other one was buggy due to the widget issue. Did not delete the old Open Office application.

Document recovery still pops up and the same cycle still happens when I try to recover the file.

Is there any way to recover the file?

You are in wrong place here. This is a bug tracking system and not a help desk.

If you have some difficulties to use OpenOffice, the best way is to go on our mailing list or community forum:
