Description darren.williams1973 2019-08-07 07:23:37 UTC
OS/2 4 CP2. Running on Vurtualbox 6. All dependencies installed as far as I can tell. Firefox running OK.

Each start of any AOO app I get a return code 8 error on svxcore.dll

If I examine with chkdll32, editeng.dll and xo.dll are both seeming to fail.

You mentioned an obsolete version: 4.0.0.
We encourage you to retest your bug against the latest release.

OS/2 is not an offical supported platform of Apache OpenOffice.

Please get in contact with the vendor who is porting and building the software:

https://ecsoft2.org/openoffice

Here you can also get the most recent version 4.1.6 and have a new try.

Sorry, wrong information. Apache OpenOffice for OS/2 is ported by bitwise works GmbH:

https://www.bitwiseworks.com/products/ports.php#AOO

We have one maintainer reading here, but normally you would open a ticket at ArcaNoae:

https://www.arcanoae.com/wiki/reporting-problems-best-practices/

Both, AOO 4.0.0 and OS/2 Warp 4 CP 2 are really old and not maintained anymore.
You should think about getting ArcaOS and an update for AOO (4.1.6 for OS/2).
