minimal example search for "Fahrrad" or "rott"

Hi,
I have an issue with in CALC. The spreadsheet contains few colums with date, time and text. When I enter a text, which is contained in a textcolum, it crashes at once.
When I enter a text, which is not contained in a textcolum, a PopUp comes "OpenOffice Calc" has searched till the end ot the table. Would you like to continue the search at the start of the table.
(As a german I am using opne office in german)

The version is 4.1.6., fresh installed
Comment 1 oooforum (fr) 2019-04-24 18:01:18 UTC
I was not able to reproduce a crash with attached document.
Tested with AOO 4.1.6 and Windows 7 x64 Pro
Comment 2 Keith N. McKenna 2019-04-24 18:21:31 UTC

Comment 3 Matthias Seidel 2019-04-24 18:46:53 UTC
Not reproducible with Windows 10 Pro 1809 (17763.437) and German AOO 4.1.6.
(The "hardware" is a VirtualBox 6.06 VM)

@Gerhard:
Which version of Windows 10 are you on?
Which version of Java (if installed)?

Your configuration is quite identical to mine.

But what do you mean with:
 - several Versions of Microsoft Visual C++ ... ?

Be sure you only have the latest version installed, esp.:

 - MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.30729.6161
 - MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x64 9.0.30729.6161
Comment 6 gerhard_gebhard 2019-04-25 12:29:10 UTC
Hi Manfred,
actually I do not even know in which language OpenOffice is programmed.
After the crash of open office comes always a poup for the document recovery.
It mentions a "Fehlerbericht" (error report). l would like to add this error report to the message, but I do not know how to access it.
kind regards
Gerhard

For your information regarding Microsoft Redistributable C++. I have

- KB246174 - X64 9.0.30729.5570

- x64 9.0.30729.4148
- x64 9.0.30729.6161
- x86 9.0.30411

Comment 7 oooforum (fr) 2019-04-25 14:07:37 UTC
Seems to be restricted to Win10 Home edition (confirmed by Keith in comment 2).
Maybe relevant with the story of KB4343909:
https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=94713&hilit=KB4343909
Comment 8 Matthias Seidel 2019-04-25 19:18:48 UTC
Sorry, not reproducible for me on Windows 10 Home 1809 either.
Must be something else.

My guess would be all the different installed versions of MSVC 2008 Runtime.
Comment 9 gerhard_gebhard 2019-04-26 13:21:37 UTC
Hi Matthias and others,

I removed now all other versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 besides
- x64 9.0.30729.6161
- x86 9.0.30729.6161

A test after a restart resulted in the same situation. Any search results in a crash of OpenOffice.
- if the searchtext is in the file, the crash comes directly
- if the searchtext is not in the file, a popup comes asking, if the search should continue. After yes comes the crash.

Which information would you need? It seems to me, that Keith N. McKenna was able to reproduce the issue

kind regards
Gerhard
Comment 10 Matthias Seidel 2019-04-26 15:53:18 UTC
I really don't know what is broken with your system. Someone who can reproduce the issue has to take over...

One last idea:
"The version is 4.1.6., fresh installed"

Does that mean you did rename your AOO-profile or did you just update from an older version?

And did you look if you have KB4343909 installed?
Comment 11 Keith N. McKenna 2019-04-26 18:58:23 UTC
I can verify that KB4343909 is NOT installed on my system and that a rename of the profile does not rectify the problem either with the attached spreadsheet or a newly created one.
Comment 12 gerhard_gebhard 2019-04-27 16:09:05 UTC
Hi Matthias,
- I have Windows 10, Version 1809 installed at 13.Dec.2018
I guess this may have included the KB4343909. At least I can not see it in the
list of executed updates (show Updates - Updateverlauf anzeigen)

- Does that mean you did rename your AOO-profile or did you just update from an
  older version?
I do not know, what an AOO-profile may be. So I guess I did not changed it.
I added few sceeenshots from my folders. Maybe something is wrong in it.
How would I do a complete deinstall? So I could try a new installation on a
  clean ground?

 kind regards
Gerhard
Comment 13 Matthias Seidel 2019-04-27 18:25:00 UTC
Hi Gerhard,

That sounds like a clean installed Windows.
(Don't take "broken system" too serious! ;-) )

Keith confirmed that the problem does not go away with a new profile.

There must be some difference between my system and those from you and Keith.
Maybe graphic card / driver?

My Windows 10 Pro in VirtualBox has VBoxVGA (with 2D and 3D acceleration) and my Windows 10 Home runs on an Intel HD Graphic.

Why "Program Files (x86)" folder is named as "Programme (x86)"?
Could you give us the result of SET in Windows Console?
Comment 16 Peter 2019-04-29 07:06:44 UTC
this is german Windows magic. user folder is also not called user, but benutzer...

But it works usually.

French Windows Explorer

Well, I know that some folders are localized like Programs or Users.
But "Program Files (x86)" has not a french name.
Comment 18 gerhard_gebhard 2019-04-29 07:32:36 UTC
Hi Matthias and others,
I checked the device manager. The graphic card is "AMD Radeon HD 540" with a driver ("Treiber") from AMD Version 15.201.1151.1008 from 04.11.2015.
According to Windows driver search it is the actual one.

As Processors the PC has according to the device manager two(!) times Pentrium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5700 @3.00 GHz. The processor driver is from Microsoft Version 10.0.17763.1 from 21.04.2009

As events for the processors are listed:
Das Gerät "ACPI\GenuineIntel_-_Intel64_Family_6_Model_23_-_Pentium(R)_Dual-Core__CPU______E5700__@_3.00GHz\_1" wurde migriert.

ID der letzten Gerätinstanz: ACPI\GenuineIntel_-_Intel64_Family_6_Model_23_-_Pentium(R)_Dual-Core__CPU______E5700__@_3.00GHz\_1
Klassen-GUID: {50127dc3-0f36-415e-a6cc-4cb3be910b65}
Speicherortpfad:
Migrationsrang: 0x0
Vorhanden: true

Thats for your information. But I do assume, that the reason is in my OpenOffice installation.
kind regards
Gerhard
