Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 127032
Vertical ruler not displayed correctly in OS/2 version
Last modified: 2021-06-22 18:10:47 UTC
Created attachment 85600 [details] Displays the error. The vertical ruler digits are displayed in such a way that they lose the second digit. See the attached PNG image, where the vertical ruler shows "6 7 8 9 1 1 1 1 1 1" and the second digit has been lost. This seems to affect the OS/2 version but not the MS Windows version.

That is a problem of the installed system-font "WarpSans", which is a bitmapped font and can not be rotated (if I remember it correctly). Under "Tools - Options... - View" you can disable "Use system font for user interface". Now if you have "Workplace Sans" installed [1] it will be used for the user interface instead. The font looks really nice in general and the numbers in the vertical ruler are rotated (like on other platforms). Drawback: The menu bar is bold/italic. I can confirm it on ArcaOS 5.0 [2] so I miǵht open a bug on their bugtracker. [1] http://www.altsan.org/creative/fonts/workplace/wpsu_bit_103.zip [2] https://www.arcanoae.com/arcaos/
Created attachment 86112 [details] AOO 4.1.3 with "Workplace Sans" font
Confirmed with AOO 4.1.6 on ArcaOS
Matthias have you opened a bug in arcaos?
(In reply to Peter from comment #4) > Matthias have you opened a bug in arcaos? No, I didn't... Thinking about it, this isn't a problem of the font handling by the OS. I added Yuri, maybe he has an idea how to improve the menus when using a scalable font for the UI.

As a sidenote: The official binary for Windows shows the same issue.
