Description eldritchdesign 2014-05-17 07:10:40 UTC
When switching between desktops on MacOS, if the screen you switch from and the one you switch to both have an OpenOffice document open, the screen will immediately revert to the one you started from. This makes it very difficult to work with multiple documents at once. I have confirmed that this happens with several different apps in the OpenOffice family, including Writer, Calc and Draw. This happens when changing desktops with ctrl-right and ctrl-left, and also when opening Mission Control and clicking on the desktop thumbnail.

Steps to Replicate:
1. Open Mission Control (ctrl-up) and add several desktops.
2. Open at least two or three documents in OpenOffice on different desktops.
3. Begin editing in any one of these documents.
4. Switch to a desktop with a different document in it.
5. The desktop will switch, then immediately switch back.
6. Click on the document that is now on screen.
7. The desktop MAY change BACK to the screen you originally wanted.
8. Attempting this process a second time sometimes works correctly.

I have been having this problem ever since Mavericks in all versions of the app. I am currently using Open Office v4.1. My OSx version is 10.9.2
