since yesterday I suddenly can not open any files...No saved files and no e-mail attachments 
is there a patch or update i can use?

This sounds like as if your installation and/or user profile got corrupted.

I propose you consult our user forum - may be others had experienced the same and can provide help. Here you will also get help on how to renew your user profile and/or your installation. Our user forum is found at http://forum.openoffice.org/

Please provide feedback in this issue, if you problem could be solved. Thx in advance.

I am resolving this issue as not-an-issue, until further information will be available that your problem is caused by a defect in the code.
