Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12319
Inserting bibliographic entry from remote mysql causes a crash.
Last modified: 2006-05-31 14:29:06 UTC
Hi, When I try to insert a reference into my document using Insert > Indexes and Tables > Bibliographic entry... Openoffice crashes. I see a popup window stating that "An unrecoverable error...blahblah". Before it crashes, I do see a list of my references in a drop down box so I know office is able to read my database. I can also see my table in the bibliographic window and the datasource window. My database is on a remote server. I am using Redhat 8.0, mysql-3.23.54a-4, unixODBC-2.2.2-3 and mysql-server-3.23.54a-4. I use MyODBC-2.50.39-7, which I recompiled from src because redhat's binary doesn't work (known bug). These packages are installed on workstation and server. I have openoffice 1.0.2 on the server and oo-snapshot644 on the workstation. When I use openoffice on the server, I am able to insert references without any problems. I did have a database issue that was resolved when I switched to 644 (see issue#12162 for more details). Thanks.
Can you give us a stack dump of the crash happening in OOo1.1beta2? See http://kegel.com/openoffice/#dump (or wait for OOo1.1rc1, which will have a built-in crash logger) Thanks!
I'm adding the "oooqa" keyword & setting the priority to P1 from P3.
