Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12157
Problems with Formula in Brasilian Version
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:53:10 UTC
Hi! OpenOffice is a great office software! Congratulations and thanks a lot! Well, I´ve been used the Brasilian OO for four months under linux (Conectiva 8), win98 and Win2000pro, and the only problem I´ve noted is about using greek characters in formula editor. While the original version (US English) uses "%omega" and "%alpha" for those characters, the Brasilian uses "%ômega" and "% alfa". Sometimes, when you save the document (writer) and reopen it, the character "%ômega", for exemple, is not shown. What is displayed is "omegaa". About the "%alfa", it is displayed as "alfaa". Well, I think that a pattern should be taken for all distributions (I´d suggest the US version), as well among their languages, making the documents containing formulas compatible for all OpenOffice versions. Thanks a lot for the software and for the possibility of making it better. [Rodrigo Oliveira] - Brazil
