Draw - new "page tool window" is too wide
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:47:48 UTC
On the left side of Draw main window is page view tool. In the past I usually made it's width as small as possible (but not zero) to use only to switch pages by mouse click. In OO v3.4 the minimal width is fixed to ~10% of screen. It takes too many space on my main window and is bad for me. Would you please to restore previous page view tool (OO 3.3) behavior. If you need a limitation (for some reason), may be width can be limited in pixels (~32 pixels) to left more space on large resolution screens. Wide page view tool can be not so critical for wide screen, but it is not good for 1600x1200 (4/3) screen. Thank you Serg Smirnov Kiev Ukraine
I agree, that it is not user friendly, that it cannot be smaller. That is uncomfortable for netbooks too. Workaround for Draw: Use the navigator to switch pages. It can be docked the same way as the page pane.
Thank you Regina for advice about navigator. I have looked at navigator and found some inconvenience. 1) I cannot see content of page, only number. 2) page number looks like: "icon", "page" "#" So if I make navigator window narrow I can see only page icons. It would be good to change navigator string to "#" "page", "ion". This way the page number would be visible in narrow window also. (It can be made as enhancement for new version but I an not sure it is good for other users who used navigator before). Also I found some dependency with "navigator width" and "page window width". Some times I can make window narrow, some times cannot. May be it is small bug? The minimal width depends on is window docked or not, are both windows visible or navigator only... Also if I switch on navigator in Draw, it appears in Writer also, so it is global, while page window is for Draw only.
getting rid of value "enhancement" for field "severity". For enhancement the field "issue type" shall be used.
