Making a basic presentation using OOImpress 1.0.2 and when we inserted a 
sphere into the title page every menu, button and scroll bar disappeared 
making the whole program unusable. See te screen shot for further verification

This sounds like a problem with the Open GL drivers of the graphic
card. Sometimes thes drivers are badly programmed so the only solution
is to turn this of or use another driver. For turning of please do
this: go to Tools/Option/OpenOffice.org/View and uncheck the marks in
"optimized output" and "Use OpenGL". If that solves the problem we
have the reason for the problem.

I have found that using Open GL with the latest nVidia drivers 
(41.09) is ok as long as I uncheck the "optimized output" box. Thanks 
wg@openoffice.org for your help. I can't believe I didn't think of 
that myself.
