Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 1168
Wrong calculation within tables
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:34 UTC
I will attach a .sxw file with a table. Within this table, there is are 3 columns with numbers in it, with the last being the product of the first two. But as you can see, 1 times 3,60 gives 36,00, i.e. 10 times the correct value. You can change the colums and the effect stays there.

Reassigned to Eric.
Please attach your sample again. Your file was 0kb big.
Created attachment 360 [details] The calculation in this file is incorrect
I uploaded it again, but I could download both of them without any problem. (Netscape 4.77) Kurt
Ok, I recieved the file now.
Daniel: loading the file in the 632 causes the described behaviour. In the 637, same behaviour until you click somewhere in the table. Some kind of strange format actualization.
The behavior in 637 is OK. The cell gets updated when the cursor is inside the cell, and then the proper vale is calculated. The problem that caused the wrong value to be calculated in the original document was already reported in issue #i870#. Under certain circumstances the decimal seperators weren't recognized. Note that the comma "," seperates the integer part from the fractional part of the number (in the German locale), while the point "." seperates thousands (and gets ignored during parsing, because it doesn't add value). In the 632 version a bug causes these to be mixed up, so the value "3,6" was seen as "3.6" which the same as "36" with funny formatting. Hence, a wrong result was computed. dvo->es: Please close if you can confirm.
dvo->Kurt Huwig: I mark the issue as duplicate. The problem should be gone in any version labeled 634 or greater. I'm sorry for any problems this may have caused *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 870 ***
