Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 113114
check for update
Last modified: 2010-07-21 11:37:38 UTC
"Check for updates" downloads a file "OpenOffice.org_3.2.1_Win_x86_install_de.exe", size 2,89 kb. After choosing the button "Install" there is a messagebox: "16bit MS-DOS Subsystem The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction." The installation fails. VISTA 32bit Under WIN7 64bit with OOo3.2.0 I get the following message: "Die Version dieser Datei ist nicht mit der ausgeführten Windows-Version kompatibel. Öffnen Sie die Systeminformationen des Computers, um zu überprüfen, ob eine x86 (32bit)- oder eine x64-(64bit)-Version des Programms erforderlich ist, und wenden Sie sich anschließend an den Herausgeber der Software."

I can confirm it with Vista 64 bit I also get the same error message under Vista 64 bit
Can confirm with vista 32 bit
ja->of: please check.
problem was also reported for Win XP this looks as if a wrong file is being downloaded (see screenshot)

I've checked the MD5 checksums against the files we've archived locally before uploading to mirror master. Files on mirrors did not change: 61c037f69d8dfb9f23ca91a3f8d57f9d OOo_3.2.1_Win_x86_install-wJRE_de.exe 9af43fdf0c2c5e6456d822b19b250e73 OOo_3.2.1_Win_x86_install_de.exe The user should check if he gets the same MD5SUM
md5sum check will indeed fail, as k_j already reported: file "OpenOffice.org_3.2.1_Win_x86_install_de.exe", size 2,89 kb. I asked k_j to attach the file to this issue
Checksum of downloaded OOo_3.2.1_Win_x86_install_de.exe (2,89 kB) 67D6514122F2BEFD86E84B033C6B3193

*** Issue 113106 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
The attached file contains the "File not found" HTML page that has been sent back from MirrorBrain because the file name given by the Product Update Service was wrong. I've fixed that for all files and languages registered for 3.2.1 within PUS. The error was caused by an error within the scripting framework used to upload and to push filenames for all webservices involved.
I've seen a correct download.
No pproblems reported after the fix.
