To reproduce ...

(*) Copy the (soon to be) attached template to your template
    directory.

(*) Start Open Office.  Program presents "Welcome to OpenOffice".

(*) Click on Templates.  Program presents "Templates and Documents -
    My Templates"

(*) Below heading Title, click on template file for_scribbles.
    Program presents debug output

        Error: assertion failed!

I am running a lightly hacked non-production build of DEV300_m75.


The template file was created by OO 2.4 as delivered with
Ubuntu-Hardy, and that program is happy to open it.
