Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 107606
"Before" Text wrap turns itself on and off sometimes
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:15:20 UTC
Using OO 3.1 on a Mac with 10.5.7, students create a file with text wrap enabled, occasionally they open their file and it appears that text wrap is no longer enabled (i.e. the image is there, but the text flows behind it. If we double-click the image, it says that text wrap is enabled. If we close the file and open it again, we sometimes get the correctly formatted "view" where the text wrap is on. Other times we get the same incorrect view.
please attach the offending document to this issue (as stated in the Issuetracker Basic rules http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html#attachments), so that we can reproduce and fix the problem here. Created attachment 66631 [details] this is the file. It was set up with text wrap on for the image of the person at the computer.
Created attachment 66632 [details] Here is a screen shot of the file when it opens and is "broken"
I cannot confirm the issue. When I open the attached document in OOo 3.1 either on WinXP or Mac OS 10.6.2 the graphic is correctly wrapped as desired. Are you sure that the correct document is attached? Or do I have to perform some additional steps after opening the document?
Small correction - I was able to this once with OOo 3.2 dev build, but after this the document opened fine. Do you have similar experience? MRU->OD: can you see the problem when you try to open attached document or can you imagine what might trigger this? "Before" wrap is correctly saved in the document / at the graphic, but sometimes it is shown as "through" wrap.
I can not reproduce the described defect with the following versions: - OOo 3.1.1 under Solaris Sparc - OOo 3.1.1 and DEV300m68 under Linux - OOo 3.0, OOo 3.1, OOo 3.1.1 and DEV300m68 under Windows But this the following versions: - OOo 3.1.1 under Mac OS X 10.4.11 (PowerPC) HDU also reproduced the described defect under Mac OS X 1.5.? (Intel) Very strange, because the layout algorithm in Writer is not platform-dependent. Further investigations needed.
