after installing final beta 1.01 including ghostscript and fondu about 3.7 gig
of applications had vanished from my boot-partition. System and everthing else
was still fine.

This problem is isolated to the MacOS X installer.  It is being addressed in the imminent 1.0.1.2 FB installer release.  The problem is when the install path is changed to a custom path that contains spaces or slashes in the pathname.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
