Description Unknown 2003-01-06 02:12:38 UTC
I am expecting the cell font color "automatic" to display on the screen of a Windows system as the
"Window Text" color [established by Control Panel / Display / Appearance / Item: Window / (font)
Color]. The Calc program displays the cell font color as Black (and prints as Black),
irregardless of what the "Window Text" color is. If, however, a cell whose font color is
"automatic" has contents long enough to wrap to an additional line, the font color will display
(and print) with the "Windows Text" font color. The font color "automatic" needs (in my opinion)
to have two meanings: for display purposes, it should be the personal preference of the user, as
established by his/her Windows Display Appearance Scheme; and, for print purposes, it should
default to Black (paper usually being white), or some other value the user has established in the
application as the default print color. Allowing the user to treat the display foreground and
background colors differently from the printed result is important for users with visual
handicaps, or who merely don't like to stare at white screens with black markings all day.
